Abdomen/Groin: Diagnoses and Locations Glossary
This article serves as a glossary of the diagnoses and location details currently available in the DataBiologics platform. It is designed as a quick reference for members to easily review the standardized terms used across the system.
Diagnoses Available:
- Muscle Strain: an injury that occurs when a muscle is stretched or torn
Locations available: -External Oblique Muscle (bilateral/left/right)
-Internal Oblique Muscle (bilateral/left/right)
-Rectus Abdominus Muscle (bilateral/left/right)
-Transverse Abdominus Muscle (bilateral/left/right)
- Osteitis Pubis: an inflammation of the pubic symphysis.
- Osteoarthritis: a common joint disease that causes pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints.
Locations available: -Pubis Symphysis
- Pubis Symphysis Diastasis: a separation of the pubic symphysis.
- Sports Hernia: a painful condition that affects the groin area in athletes.
Locations available: -Adductor Origin Tendon (bilateral/left/right)
-Conjoint Tendon (bilateral/left/right)
-Rectus Abdominus Tendon (bilateral/left/right)
Other terminology might include: Gilmore's groin, core muscle injury, sportsman's groin, hockey groin syndrome, and groin disruption
